Kate has always had flawless skin. As a teen, she suffered from the odd blemish every so often, but for the most part she has always had great skin. Great skin comes from great care and, usually, great products. So it was no surprise when we learned that Kate’s skincare regimen is from one of the world’s leaders in skincare.
Kate has been known to use quite a few of Karin Herzog’s products, including the Professional Cleansing face wash, the Oxygen Face moisturizer, Vita-A-Kombi 1 face cream and their signature Eye Cream. We tested out a few of the products to see if the Duchess of Cambridge was on to something – was oxygen skincare really worth the buzz? Could we achieve Kate’s perfect skin with these luxurious products? Let’s find out.
The Professional Cleansing gel is a daily face cleanser. The KH website describes it as:
“A dual action cleanser and make up remover effectively removes impurities while conditioning the skin. Formulated with pure essential oils including gardenia, rose and geranium, sesame oil this innovative formulation helps unclog pores, dissolves impurities and restores the skin’s pH balance resulting in a hydrated and clean complexion.”
The product is a strange gel with the consistency of Vaseline, but it boasts the most wonderful scent. The smell is reminiscent of Illuminum’s White Gardenia Petals or Jo Malone’s Orange Blossom – no doubt another reason Kate loves the product. While applying a hazelnut-sized about, I seem to be tugging at my skin but it feels like more of a face massage, which isn’t a bad thing. I gently wipe the product off with a wet cotton pad. My skin feels very smooth and refreshed but I’m not sure all of the product has been wiped off.
The Vita-A-Kombi 1 is the brand’s magic potion. The website describes the face cream as:
“A revolutionary patented anti-wrinkle moisturizer, containing 1% oxygen and vitamins A & E, that helps normalize and detox the skin while diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.”
It doesn’t have a beautiful smell, like the cleanser, but it has a very light consistency. The instructions state to apply delicately with the brush, careful to not massage into the skin. The cream feels very light on my skin, but because it isn’t massaged into my skin I can definitely still feel it. It dries in a few moments and my skin feels baby smooth and refreshed.
THE RESULTS: The next day, my skin was clear, even, and glowing. I was mystified, so I gave it a few more days, and everytime I woke up I had the same results – clear, even, glowing skin. I loved the results of these products, however I felt they were a bit expensive. The bottles are much smaller than I am accustomed to. Despite the fact that I only use a little product each day, I feel that I would have to restock 3-4 times a year. Still, I would thoroughly recommend the products and will be purchasing from Karin Herzog many more times!
For reference: I am in my early 20’s with combination/oily skin. I have the odd blemish and struggle with blackheads.
I’ve used Karin Herzog Vita-A-Combi 1 for a while and really liked it, but I am surprised that you find it lightweight. I actually thought it feels prettheavy when applying it. But as soon as it dries up your skin does feel very soft and not greasy or anything…. So pricey though 🙁
To be fair, I was using very small amounts for fear it would be too greasy/heavy on my skin. So I should concede that WHEN you use a very small amount it feels lightweight 🙂
