Dear Duchess,
What would Kate bake?
– Katie L. from London
Dear Katie,
What a fantastic question! We are getting hungry just thinking about it…
On a visit with CBUK in 2012, Kate told Mary Berry – the UK’s most beloved baker – that she loved her cookbooks. William admitted that he loved the brownies that Kate bakes, perhaps a bit too much! Here’s the recipe for Mary Berry’s famous brownies.
Rumor has it Kate loves to make jams, so it would only make sense to bake some fresh, homemade breads and muffins to go along with them! We love this easy bread recipe from Jamie Oliver.
We also heard that Kate’s favorite dessert is sticky toffee pudding – and we don’t blame her! Our Cooking with Catherine series featured the scrummy recipe in 2013.
To keep up with her fitness regimen and healthy lifestyle, we know it can’t all be brownies and cakes! Baked apples are a healthy, warm, gooey, and guilt-free dessert – we can see Kate baking some at Anmer Hall during cold winter nights! Here’s a great recipe – apples are sweet enough that you can skip the extra sugar!
Happy baking – make sure to send us any leftovers!

I am not sure what she would bake, but the fact that she actually bakes shows that she likes to have some control over the things that she eats. Typical for a woman who likes to stay healthy.
I only bake when I have guests. When I ABSOLUTELY need something sweet, I spread sesame paste and honey on toast. Try it…it’s tasty and healthy! Works well with coffee or tea.
That sounds DELICIOUS! I will have to try that! I never thought to use sesame paste as a sweet treat.
