Shortly after her May 2nd birthday, our little princess has a name – Her Royal Highness, Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge.
Princess Charlotte was born at 8:34 AM on Saturday, May 2nd. Her Little Royal Highness weighed 8 pounds, 3 ounces. She is the fourth in line to the throne, behind her grandfather, daddy, and big brother, George. Princess Charlotte made her first official appearance only a few short hours after entering this world.
Alice was the front-runner for the princess’ name. Ultimately, William and Catherine chose a traditional name that honors her British heritage. The name “Charlotte” means “free woman” and honours her grandfather – Prince Charles. Queen Charlotte was the 18th century consort to King George III.
The Cambridge family – now a family of five – is spending the first few months at Anmer Hall, their Norfolk home. The next time we see Princess Charlotte will be at her christening, which is expected to take place in June or July. In addition, we may see an official family portrait, similar to the one taken after Prince George’s birth.
We are overjoyed by Princess Charlotte’s arrival. The entire WWKD team sends their love and well wishes to William, Kate, Lupo, George, and Charlotte.
I was moved when I heard they added “Diana”.
Love that you included Lupo to make “family of five!” And if better were legal in U.S., I would have put my bet on Caroline Elizabeth Diana OR Caroline Elizabeth Frances, so I would have won something…or maybe not? Yeah, big gambler here! :>)
Of course Lupo is a part of the family! The Cambridges have made that very clear! We love to see him!
I do wish we’d see more of Lupo!! Such a sweet dog
Queen Charlotte was also descends from the Black Portuguese Royal House. I LOVE IT!!!!! Way to Go Kate&Wills Perfect Choice!
