By the time this piece is “live” on What Would Kate Do?, this contributor will be on her way to a girls’ weekend. Even in the best of times, being a mother, business-owner, attorney, and house-manager can take a lot out of a person. I’m sure that the Duchess of Cambridge must feel the same. Even with the help and support of a staff and nanny, Kate must need a little girl time every now and then. So as I put together my own to-do lists, I wondered, how would Kate prepare for a girls’ weekend?
Step Away From the Keyboard
When the lines between home and office are blurred, it must be difficult to truly take a break. I imagine that the Duchess of Cambridge has to draw a line in the sand, putting aside charity research and unanswered correspondence for another day.
Prepare the Family
While Kate has Nanny Maria on whom to rely – both while at home and away – I’m sure that the Duchess of Cambridge wants to make her sojourn as easy as possible on Prince William, George and Charlotte. Knowing Kate’s love for the kitchen, Kate’s preparations must include putting up easy meals for her family and some easy activities to wile away a few days in her absence.
Prepare to Relax
When you have as many demands as does Duchess Kate, relaxing takes a little planning. With all of her travels, Kate must understand the value of finding the perfect base for a getaway weekend – luxurious but unpretentious. When she is visiting a new locale, I’m sure she balances the desire to explore the sights and indulge in the cuisine with the need to put her feet up and relax.
