At the dawn of a new year, many of us make commitments to get fit and healthy. And since we know Kate to be something of an athlete herself, it seems like the perfect time to take some fitness tips from the Duchess and learn how to work out like Catherine.
We all have busy lives and Catherine’s is no different. She’s got two little ones to run around after, a dog that needs walking, and a busy schedule in the public eye on top of it. So she has to fit in workouts when she can—a lesson we can all learn!
We’ve seen her casually and comfortably dressed when she’s out with George and Charlotte so that she can more easily chase after them (and Lupo) and get herself moving, too. Whether it means pairing cute tennis shoes with your outfit or wearing clothing you can move in, when you’re comfortable, you’ll be more encouraged to take those extra steps—and maybe even skip that Uber for a nice long walk. Every step counts!
We also know that Kate is always game to participate in activities when she is out visiting organizations and making appearances. Rock climbing, canoeing, volleyball…she’s done it all! By putting any pretensions aside, she has fun and squeezes in extra workouts. Take a page from her book and participate whenever and wherever you can, whether you’re joining the kids in a game of tag or doing tricep dips at the park. You’ll work on getting fit and probably have a lot of fun, too! (But play volleyball in wedges at your own risk.)
Catherine can’t exactly walk down the street to her local gym so she has the gym come to her. We can’t all hire a personal trainer, but anyone can have a home gym. The Duchess is said to enjoy using an exercise ball and dumbbells for at-home workouts. Both are cheap, easy to find, and versatile. Add a yoga mat (Kate is rumored to like yoga, too!) and a few workout DVDs (or just search fitness videos online) and you’ve got the equipment to do tons of different workouts. Bonus: you’ll build strength and tone your arms at home so you’re up for any activity the day throws at you!
Catherine is also said to be a fan of jogging—something anyone can do, anywhere! Even if you’re not the biggest fan of running, it’s a great option to have in your back pocket for when you don’t have access to any equipment, like when you’re traveling. Just invest in some outdoor gear that fits your environment (and of course a great pair of running shoes) and hit the pavement.
I love her outfit in the third picture will there be a replicate that anytime soon?
