Today we are featuring Paola, a 27 year old from Italy who has been a fan of Kate since her engagement to William. She fell in love with the Duchess of Cambridge during the Royal wedding and her admiration for Kate has grown since in the five years since. She loves that Kate always looks happy, smiles and has such impeccable and gracious mannerisms. She also is a huge fan of Kate’s style, and has been actively creating her own collection of repliKates, many of which she showcases on her blog. In Paola’s own words, “I wish I could buy everything the Duchess of Cambridge wears but of course is not possible, so I’ve made my own collection of repliKates.”
Here is what is in Paola’s Royal Closet!
Royal Beauty
Paola sought inspiration from Kate’s Royal Wedding looks to build out a Royal BEAUTY Closet full of Bobbi Brown, Essie and Illuminum (some of it sourced from the WWKD Beauty Box!)
I took a look at the bride’s beauty tools and selections from her 2011 wedding, which for sure I will use for my wedding too. On her big day, Kate opted for a very natural look with BOBBI BROWN products and I’ve got my own Royal beauty case that features the Slate and Rockstar shades, Sandwash pink lipstick, the concealers from the brand are fantastic, the Shimmer brick in pink quartz. Kate loves the black liner, I’ve got the black pencil form Bobbi Brown. The bride had her royal manicure done by Marina Sandoval. She reported that Kate wanted a very natural look and she mixed two nail polishes, ESSIE ALLURE with ROSE LOUNGE from BOURJOIS. I love the result and this is my go-to manicure when I have important events and don’t need fancy manicure. Thanks to WWKD, I had my royal box with the replica of Kate’s engagement ring and a sample of ILLUMINUM Gardenia petals, the perfume Kate used that day. It is so fresh, I like it. I also have the OXYGEN FACE cream from Karin Herzog, simply amazing on the skin.
Royal Closet
After Paola recreated Kate’s gorgeous wedding makeup, she moved on to recreating elements from her closet.
I love Kate’s shoes! When she debuted her Corkswoon by STUART WEITZMAN, I had to have them. Unfortunately they were sold out everywhere, when they were restocked, it was impossible to have them sent in Italy, so I had them shipped to NYC to a friend and then she brought them in Italy. I know, I am crazy but I love the shoes. Here my first look: features, blue jacket from Stradivarius, striped white and blue top from ZARA skinny jeans from Massimo Dutti and my corkswoons. I like this relaxed but nice look, a must for the Duchess.
The second look is one of my favourites, from the Olympic games. Kate was wearing a red jacket from ZARA. I have it in white. It is a nice outfit for congresses, it looks so effortlessly chic. I wore a polka dot top from Zara as well.
The second pair of shoes I ‘ve had are the fantastic SLEDGE from LK BENNETT. In Italy I could find so many replicates, but I wanted the original one and had them from London. They are so comfortable and I understand why Kate wore them so much. The green dress is the ZARITA dress from Diane Von Furstenberg. I loved the long, black one but I thought I was never gonna wear it so I’ve opted for the short version. Green is my favourite color and it reminded me of the green Maja dress that Kate wore in Los Angeles in 2011 and before Zara Phillips wedding.
One thing I could not resist to the long version, so after months, I’ve convinced myself that it is a must have and never goes out of style was the long DVF black lace dress Kate wore. It was almost sold out on DvF website! I haven’t had the chance to wear it yet, but I will pair it with my Jimmy Choo COSMIC pumps and my Jimmy Choo Candy clutch in black and silver. I like the shoes, not so comfortable as I imagined, but they are perfect for long dresses since they are so high.
I also wore the Jimmy Choos for a party at my house with a TEMPERLY dress and the AVONA CLUTCH. Kate often wears Temperly London dresses with her sky high heels.
Last but not least, another pair of shoes Kate wears often are the JIMMY CHOO VAMP sandals. Now they are not produced anymore and it is hard to find them. I love sandals and at first my Lang from the brand were fine, but I really wanted the Vamp, to wear them with my long dresses, so I made an effort and bought them. Before buying them, my thought was that they were very high and had to be uncomfortable, but as soon as I tried them on, they fit my feet perfectly and it doesn’t feel like I’m wearing high heels. One thing I’ve learned buying Kate’s shoes is that she always goes for comfortable heels, so if she has a specific pair, they must be awesome.
My last outfit is inspired by the recent safari that William and Kate took in India. The Duchess look so chic even in that occasion. The next day I was going to Fallingwater, to see the house by Frank Lloyd Wright on the waterfall and I’ve recreated the look: a pair of Joe’s jeans, polka dot top from Zara, car shoe mocassins and a beige pashmina.
My last royal inspired accessory is the LK BENNETT Avon Clutch. I have it in black patent but I never use it so I am selling it, if some of you are interested, just go to my blog.
Paola can’t wait to do other repliKates – and we’re sure you’ll agree with us that we can’t wait to see them! Thanks for sharing a glimpse into your Royal Closet, Paola!
I love Catherine’s all styles.
So cute! She looks great in Kate’s looks.

You look beautiful in everything! Do you happen to remember the name/design of the Temperley dress? I love it 🙂
And would also love to see more photos of Fallingwater- it sounds amazing!
Just Google “fallingwater” and check out the images results. It’s lovely. I grew up a few miles away and have been there several times. Make sure to check out some photos of the interior, too, not just the standard exterior shot. The beauty is really in the details Wright used throughout.
What a great post! It’s great to hear from Paola that the Vamp is comfortable. I would always wonder how Kate managed to walk in it.
