We love hearing how Kate influences our readers to incorporate elements of Kate’s style into their lives, and to see some of their favourite pieces. It was no exception with Lindsay, whose custom made jewlery made by her (extremely sweet) husband and inspired by Kate holds a special place in her heart.
All of the jewelry is made by my husband who owns a jewelry store and were gifts from him. The sapphire is a 3 carat Ceylon with 1 carat of diamonds around it. My husband originally gave me the same ring for our anniversary last year but then he was admitted to the hospital and in all of the confusion/emotion I somehow lost the ring. Him being the special man that he is knew how much I loved it and replicated it again for this year’s anniversary and upgraded the diamonds! For all of the heartache I felt losing it, I believe it’s even sweeter the second time around!
I actually have an allergy to metals so it is crazy that I married a jeweler because I could not even wear earrings until he suggested platinum! He made me the hoops with the pearl drops for a birthday gift a couple of years ago because he knew I could change them out and get more wear out of a single pair. He then made the citrine drops because I loved the deep gold/brown/orange color of them. Next up are the pink morganite!
I purchased the Really Wild Spanish riding boots in black from Really Wild Clothing after seeing Kate in her brown ones (I already owned a pair of brown suede riding boots so I couldn’t justify another pair). I am actually an amateur equestrian myself although I would not wear these beautiful boots to the barn…I couldn’t bear to get them in the muck! I wear them when spectating and anywhere I can get away with riding boots. The tassels are fun and the detail at the zipper is very unusual. I have so many people ask me about them!
The Oscar Sport fur boots were actually an accidental find! My husband and I were planning a ski trip last year and I needed a new pair of boots so naturally I turned to Kate for inspiration and lo and behold…when I did a search, I found these beauties on Poshmark for about $80 – and in my size! They go great with the black shearling coat my husband gave me for Christmas last year! I really do feel like a princess all wrapped up in suede/shearling!
The Lotty B shirt dress is one of my favorite pieces! No picture I have taken or found online do the color and texture of the fabric and justice. It is soft and vibrant at the same time and it is absolutely gorgeous! I am a sucker for silk and purchase just about any silk shirt I come across so this was a natural pick for me, especially since my favorite vacation is to the beach! I got lucky and found one (in my size no less) on the Pink House Mustique website. It must have been the last one because after I purchased it, I noticed the item was no longer available on their website. At the same time I found a shell two piece swim suit that goes with it perfectly! I found the Anya Hindmarch bag on ebay for about $10 and just had to have it to complete the outfit! Sometimes I put it on while just lounging in our backyard pool to get some wear out of it.
I loved Kate in the Madderson Naomi dress so when they reissued the design with some changes, I purchased one from Madderson London. I am a huge texture person so I really hesitate purchasing something I can’t feel for myself but I trusted Kate’s opinion and had one shipped from the UK. I was not disappointed either! I love the tweed and the feminine colors of the pink/white/navy together. I get so many compliments when I wear it with white hose and my navy L.K. Bennett Stila heels!
Seeing Kate wear her ME+EM Breton striped tops while watching William play polo made me want try the very flattering tops. I ordered the emerald/white version from ME+EM and the vibrant green is gorgeous! The texture of the shirt was also surprising – very light and “fine” is the only description I can com up with. I live in the south so this is one of my “Kate purchases” that can get a lot of wear from since it is so light.
