We would all like to be able to shop like Kate truly does, wouldn’t we? Having the world’s top fashion brands at your beck and call, crossing their fingers that you will wear one of their designs. A personal stylist who helps you curate your looks to perfection. Unlimited funds in which to decide what goes in your wardrobe and which will be sent back. Unfortunately, this is not reality for 99.9% of the world’s population.
Luckily for us, the Duchess of Cambridge seems to appreciate that there are large numbers of royal fans out there who do not have unlimited funds, as she often is seen wearing high-street brands that are both fashion and wallet friendly and she’s even been spotted shopping at outlet shopping centres in the past. Given Kate’s love of a bargain, even when she doesn’t have to find one, we think she would undoubtedly love taking a jaunt around her local Target, as many of us do, to look for budget-friendly ways to celebrate the holidays for the home, herself and gifts. What would Kate do when shopping at Target? We think she’d find fun ways to add some colour, trend and holiday spirit to her classic wardrobe, English country home and holiday gift lists.
Here are some Kate-inspired ideas to add to your cart when browsing.
Kate Shops Target for… Her Home
Kate’s homes are meticulously decorated and gorgeously styled – and we can not imagine her Christmas decorations to be any different. They would be timeless, tasteful and regal. We also think though, that with the addition of a certain small Prince and Princess that there would be more elements of fun, whimsy and colour added into the mix this year – paired with those classics, of course.
Santa Stops Here Sign ($15) | Campfire Décor Pillow ($10) | Cable Knit Stocking ($13) | Classic Style String Lights ($12.99) | Polar Bear ($6) | Pink Tree ($8) | Glass Hurricane ($15)
Kate Shops Target for… Holiday Gifts
We love to think of what would be in the perfectly wrapped presents that Kate puts under the tree for George, Charlotte or William… Imagine the fashionable gifts she might give to Pippa with or the difficulty in shopping for a Queen… (we know that the Queen doesn’t really get gifts, but it’s fun to think of, no?) It’s fun to imagine just what fun could fill up Kate’s cart.
Family Pajamas ($16-35) | Mortar & Pestle ($29.95) | Candle ($14.99) | Whisky Rocks ($14.99) | Chi Holiday Set ($99.99) | Lego Set ($39.99) | Play-Doh Set ($15.99)
Kate Shops Target for… Herself
If there is one thing I know about shopping at Target, it’s that I usually enter for a $4 item and exit spending $200 on some other random things that caught my eye. Now with their fashionable diffusion lines, it’s easier than ever to be distracted by gorgeous items, and as someone who likes to shop, we think Kate would enjoy spending some browsing time too.
Sequin Pencil Skirt ($32.99) | Essie Polish ($11.49) | Make-Up Brushes ($29.99) | Teddy Bear Clutch ($29.99) | Chunky Heels ($29.99) | Tassel Earrings ($8) | Floppy Hat ($24.99)
In short, we think the Duchess would love the opportunity to browse around her local store and pick up some great, wallet-friendly Christmas items. And at price points that fit even the most non-royal budgets, we hope you can too!
