One of the most popular elements of the Kate watching community is definitely the repliKating. With Kate’s style receiving international accolades, the pieces that she selects to wear are always flattering and stylish, modern yet classic and worthy of an entire community of women (and a few men!) who track her every article of clothing so we can be inspired and also find ways to incorporate them into our own closets.
Unfortunately, not all of us have Kate’s budget for clothing. So while we can occasionally justify a big ticket item that will be a classic in our wardrobes for years to come, we also adore that the Duchess wears “accessible” fashion as well with pieces that have price tags within the range of a non-royal budget. But what about those items – like the bespoke Alexander McQueens – that are gorgeous to look at but very unrealistic for us? That is part of the reason that the repliKate term came about. It’s taking items inspired by the Duchess and translating them into your wardrobe and individual style – be they exact items, similar styles of items or even just items inspired by Kate’s clothes.
While we all know that the Kate community is a huge fan of repliKating, we realized the other day at WWKD that we knew very little about HOW people repliKated. Why did people like to repliKate? How long had they been repliKating? We thought we would put together a survey which will gather up all the information from repliKaters around the world and learn how they repliKated… And share the information back with you. And so, without further ado, we invite you to participate in the… Great Kate RepliKate Survey!
