Caley's #MyRoyalWeekend - What Would Kate Do?

You may have noticed that this past weekend our WWKD Official Instagram, @WWKD_Official, looked a little different as our #MyRoyalWeekend takeover happened – a popular feature where we have a reader, team member or royal fan “take over” our Instagram account to share what a Kate-inspired weekend looks like for them.

It’s no secret that we love Instagram. Whether we get to see the latest and greatest repliKates that have found their way into your closets, drool over amazing backdrops of weekend trips, fawn over pictures of your own Prince and Princesses, or learn how Kate’s charitable work has prompted yours… It’s a constant source of creative energy for those of us who seek to be inspired by the Duchess of Cambridge. Seeing fellow royal fans incorporate elements of Kate’s life into their own is not only the premise behind this very blog, but rewarding for all of us seeking to add refinement and regality to our own realities.

We were so excited to share a #MyRoyalWeekend with WWKD reader Caley, whom some of you may know from your Instagram feeds as @Royaltea_and_Crumpets. Caley is from Victoria, British Columbia and is a stay-at-home mom who has an appreciation for a good cup of tea, culinary ingenuity and all things poised.

So how did Caley enjoy a royally inspired weekend? (Hint: it involved cake…)

For Caley’s royally inspired #MyRoyalWeekend, there was planning involved. Caley was kind enough to share her royally inspired weekend with us on a very special Canadian weekend known for celebrating royalty, Victoria Day! In case you’re not familiar with Victoria Day, here is a quick summary via Wikipedia. “Victoria Day is a federal Canadian public holiday celebrated on the last Monday preceding May 25, in honour of Queen Victoria‘s birthday. The date is simultaneously that on which the current Canadian sovereign‘s official birthday is recognized.” Caley was kind enough to share how she celebrated the holiday – and even shared how the royals are even in her daughter’s life story already:
