You may have noticed that the past two weekends, our WWKD Official Instagram, @WWKD_Official, featured a cute baby and his Duchess-loving mummy as our #MyRoyalWeekend takeover happened – a popular feature where we have a reader, team member or royal fan “take over” our Instagram account to share what a Kate-inspired weekend looks like for them.
It’s no secret that we love Instagram. Whether we get to see the latest and greatest repliKates that have found their way into your closets, drool over amazing backdrops of weekend trips, fawn over pictures of your own Prince and Princesses, or learn how Kate’s charitable work has prompted yours… It’s a constant source of creative energy for those of us who seek to be inspired by the Duchess of Cambridge. Seeing fellow royal fans incorporate elements of Kate’s life into their own is not only the premise behind this very blog, but rewarding for all of us seeking to add refinement and regality to our own realities.
We were thrilled to do an extended feature on Rachael, one-half of the yummy mummy team behind the Cambridge Mums account. We featured her partner-in-repliKates, Brooke, a few weeks ago, and couldn’t wait to see more of these lovely ladies and their royally-inspired lives.
Rachael and Brooke both live in Australia, where it is currently winter. They filled us with envy for their scarves and jackets! This weekend, we spend time with Rachael and her precious son, Louis.
So, what does Rachael’s royally-inspired, everyday life look like?
Pretty wonderful, if you ask me. Rachael shared a glimpse into her daily luxuries, like tea and sparkly earrings, and a shared love of royalty with her friend, Brooke.
I was really touched by Rachael’s friendship with fellow repliKaters. Seeing how Rachael and Brooke relate and support each other during big life changes (like pregnancy, early motherhood, and beyond) shows how wonderful our little community can be.
I also loved Rachael’s outlook on repliKate-ing as life does change. She said in a post:
“Replikating to me is about taking items worn or inspired by Kate and making them work for your everyday life. Becoming a mother has made this even more challenging and rewarding. Gone are the white dresses, silk blouses and high heels (for now). Instead, you’ll find me in Breton tops, comfy jeans, plimsolls or boat shoes most days, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
You can check out all of Rachael’s royally-inspired weekend on the WWKD_Official Instagram feed!
