WWKD editor Christine Ross kicks off our new feature, My Favorite RepliKate, with the story of her very special Seraphine “Jolene” knot-front maternity dress. The Duchess of Cambridge wore this dress in the iconic first photographs with Prince George, taken at her parents’ home in Berkshire.
Here is Christine’s story on this very special piece:
When my husband and I found out we were expecting our first baby, we couldn’t wait to share the news. I wanted a simple, sweet family photo to share with friends and family – and I knew just where to look for inspiration. I love this family photo of William, Kate, George, and Lupo, looking so happy and relaxed in the back garden, and decided to recreate it in our own way.
I loved channeling the Duchess and asking “what would Kate do?” for our baby announcement photo. I knew this pink Seraphine dress was a necessary purchase as soon as I found out I was expecting! I can’t say enough great things about this dress, which is so comfortable and flattering. It really created a beautiful pop of color in our sweet family photo.
Do you have a favorite repliKate piece that is extra special to you – your wedding dress, the jacket you wore for your first job interview, or a pair of shoes that mean the world to you? We would love to hear the story of your favorite repliKate! To be featured, please e-mail us at [email protected] to share your story!
I had this dress in the emerald color during my pregnancy and was never quite able to love it. For some reason it just didn’t work for me. But I had two other Seraphine dresses (a short-sleeved dark blue faux-wrap and a long-sleeved black wrap) that I adored and still wear regularly long past pregnancy and nursing.
And meant to also say, of course, CONGRATULATIONS and that you look lovely. 🙂
